LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. John Damoose on Friday celebrated the opening of McLaren Northern Michigan’s Justin A. Borra Behavioral Health Center in Cheboygan.
“The opening of this center is a big step forward in addressing one of the most pressing health crises facing our region,” said Damoose, R-Harbor Springs. “I was honored to be a part of the grand opening celebration and proud to have helped to secure important funding for this project to succeed in becoming a reality. This wonderful facility will provide quality care for residents throughout our region for years to come.”
Public Act 166 of 2022, the state’s omnibus fiscal year 2023 budget legislation that was supported by Damoose during his time in the state House, included a $3 million enhancement grant to support facility renovations on McLaren’s Cheboygan campus.
